Ear Wax Clinic appointments are suitable for adults and children from 5 years old.
Microsuction ear wax removal appointments can now be made directly with our Practice Nurse and do not require a referral from your doctor.
Preparing for your ear wax removal appointment
Softening the ear wax with olive oil prior to your appointment can make the wax removal procedure more comfortable for you.
Please use 5 drops of olive oil in the ears, for at least 3 days/nights prior to your appointment. This will help soften the wax blockage and lubricate the ear canal.
* Do not apply any oil softening drops if you have a hole in the ear drum or grommets.
Appointment fees
Standard wax removal appointment: $120.00*
Pensioner or Health Care card holders: $90.00*
(Fees are subject to change)
*If the ear wax is unable to be removed at the first appointment, a follow up visit may be required, and our nurse will discuss this and any related fees with you at the time of your appointment.
*There is no Medicare rebate or HealthFund cover for this appointment/procedure.
